  • 275g jar cranberry sauce see note
  • 1 1 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • cloves to decorate

  • place oven shelf in lowest position preheat oven to 180u00b0c 160u00b0c fan forced using a small sharp knife cut through ham rind 8cm from shank run thumb underneath rind to separate from fat peel back and remove rind score the fat in a diamond pattern see tip press 1 clove in the centre of each diamond to decorate place ham on a wire rack in a large roasting pan
  • combine cranberry sauce and vinegar in a microwave safe jug microwave on high 100 for 20 to 30 seconds or until heated through and smooth brush half the cranberry mixture over ham cover shank end with foil to prevent it burning
  • bake using a pastry brush to baste with remaining cranberry mixture halfway during cooking for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until glaze starts to caramelise serve
